Successful Sea Trials

New York (LPD 21) —The Northrop Grumman-built New York (LPD 21) successfully accomplished builder’s sea trials this week in the Gulf of Mexico. The ship’s bow stem contains seven-and-a-half tons of steel recovered from the World Trade Center following the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70)—Northrop Grumman completed initial sea trials of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) yesterday. The trials follow the completion of a successful three and a half-year evolution known as a refueling and complex overhaul. arrow News Release
