CEO's design philosophy for mechanical parts designed for use in its laser systems is model, prototype, test, and fabricate. CEO utilizes state of the art mechanical and fluid dynamics tools to design, model, and verify mechanical designs. These tools include, but are not limited to;

Embedded software design in C and Assembly language
LabView driver development
Software version control using Visual Source Safe

Once designed, CEO utilizes its in-house rapid prototyping capabilities to build up physical models of critical components. This helps to verify critical dimension and tolerances prior to fabricating real hardware. Once the real hardware is built, system critical components are tested in CEO's environmental stress and screening labs. This attention to detail during the design, development, and prototype phase of the mechanical design leads to better mechanical systems and reduced schedule risk since critical parts are vetted prior to production.
