Live, Virtual and Constructive

Live, Virtual and Constructive

Northrop Grumman has truly brought ‘live’ to live, virtual and constructive (LVC) training. Virtual and simulated elements interoperate in the many diverse LVC systems used to meet the military’s training needs. In a ‘first’ for large-scale warfighter training, Northrop Grumman has augmented the battlespace with LVC technologies participants and live weapons platforms to provide fully integrated LVC training.

LVC Experimentation, Integration and Operations Suite

Northrop Grumman developed the LVC Experimentation, Integration and Operations Suite (LEXIOS) system, a full-LVC spectrum suite of services, hardware and software that links live and virtual participants to enable robust real-world training in advanced training exercises. LEXIOS helped make Northern Edge 2015 – a joint training exercise involving all U.S. military services – the largest live, virtual and constructive air-to-air training event ever achieved and the first exercise to integrate all the various LVC elements for advanced LVC training.

Distributed Mission Operations

Northrop Grumman is the prime contractor for U.S. Air Force’s Distributed Mission Operations Network (DMON) program, supporting training operations and integration since its launch in 1999. DMON allows different aircraft simulator platforms located across the globe to seamlessly interoperate and train together in a realistic virtual environment via a secure network.  DMON provides on-demand, inter-team training for the Combat Air Forces on a daily basis.
