Sub critical nuclear testing

At Northrop Grumman, results are driven by a commitment to integrity, innovation and performance.

As a driving force and partner for National Security Technologies LLC (NSTec), the joint-venture team responsible for operating the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS), we understand that the value of performance has never been more critical.

Proven Security

The NNSS is a unique national resource dedicated to the safe performance of high-hazard experiments for a diverse range of users. Our scientists and engineers work in collaboration with the national laboratories to conduct subcritical experiments, manage nuclear material operations, provide radiation emergency training, develop advanced technologies for arms control treaty verification, and develop world-class diagnostics systems for a wide range of applications.

Affordable Innovation

Northrop Grumman led the development of a comprehensive and efficient Contractor Assurance System which enables data-driven decisions that have significantly reduced costs associated with operating the NNSS. Likewise, NSTec implemented a rigorous nuclear operations culture through a project-based approach to management improvement that resulted in the continued effective management and operation of the site’s nuclear facilities.
