Slayer

Slayer

The Slayer is a handheld precision targeting device providing dismounted observers the ability to rapidly locate ground targets day and night — and in all battlefield conditions — to allow target engagement with precision indirect fire munitions. The compact, lightweight system provides precision engagement capability through a nonmagnetic celestial compass and includes an internal high-definition color day and thermal night vision sensor, an eyesafe laser rangefinder, a GPS receiver and a digital magnetic compass. The Slayer system is proven to meet all U.S. Army requirements for rapid precision target engagement.

The Slayer system includes an integrated two-camera Celestial Navigation Sensor (CNS). The CNS delivers a nearly instant-on precision azimuth solution (< 3 mil 1 s with celestial and GPS availability) that is not susceptible to magnetic anomalies and requires no field calibration. CNS acts to supplement and improve performance of the digital magnetic compass during intermittent celestial availability. When desired, extended navigation availability allows the user to store target locations and references for a given emplacement, through celestial signals or mission pre-planning. Extended navigation availability allows high accuracies to be maintained for a given emplacement indefinitely, independent of weather conditions and magnetic anomalies.

Slayer 2

The Slayer 2 is a handheld precision targeting device providing dismounted observers the ability to rapidly locate ground targets day and night — and in all battlefield conditions — to allow target engagement with precision indirect fire munitions. Slayer 2 additionally includes a direct fire long-range NIR Pointer/Marker.
