Northrop Grumman’s Global Supply Chain (GSC) is committed to managing costs and continuing focus on quality services and products to ensure the company’s programs achieve optimum return on sales and provide affordable solutions to enable the capturing of new business.

This work translates to choosing the right teammates and suppliers and making sure they perform to our expectations on cost, schedule, quality and innovation.

In addition, GSC tracks cost savings and cost avoidance achieved by buyers and subcontract administrators to demonstrate how money is being saved by the sector. GSC also evaluates buyer and subcontract administrator skills levels to develop better training and ensure that our staff is properly qualified to support program requirements.

Northrop Grumman is continuously impacted by our customer’s unexpected changes in demand, resulting in the immediate independent need for spares across numerous platforms. On-time deliveries are one of numerous metrics we maintain to drive continual performance and our suppliers exceed 98 percent on-time deliveries. This process takes tremendous coordination with the program office to plan requirements in addition to choosing supplier partners that take our schedules and requirements seriously.

As we move to expand our business and programs internationally, we also are moving to a true global supply chain to support those initiatives. Selecting the right suppliers and teammates will be paramount to our success and this will require that capture management and the other shared services work hand-in-hand with the global supply chain.
