Northrop Grumman ECHO Program

The Employees Charity Organization (ECHO) of Northrop Grumman is a non-profit agency established to provide a means for employees to support communities in which they live and work. By making contributions to the ECHO fund through payroll deductions, employees are able to support a wide variety of 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations throughout the United States and abroad. Northrop Grumman pays all administrative costs, ensuring that 100% of employees’ donations go directly to charity.

Grants focus on arts and culture, education programs, the environment, health and human services, humanitarian aid and disaster relief in the Northrop Grumman operating communities of: Huntsville, Ala; Los Angeles, Calif; San Bernardino, Calif; San Diego, Calif; San Jose/Sacramento, Calif, Aurora, Colo; Colorado Springs, Colo; Greater Metro Washington D.C. area; Baltimore, MD; Greater Chicago area.

ECHO Community Outreach Fund Guidelines and Criteria

To be considered for an ECHO Community Outreach Fund grant, the organization must be registered as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) with the Internal Revenue Service and make their services available to all without prejudice. Applications will only be accepted once in any 12-month period.

ECHO does not fund these types of requests:

  • General operating costs
  • Memberships
  • Multi-year commitments
  • Fundraising events
  • School sponsored athletic events or athletic organizations
  • School affiliated events such as, but not limited to, orchestras, drill teams, drama groups, clubs
  • Grant making organizations
  • Memorials, endowments, foundations, capital campaigns
  • Religious activities, in whole or in part, for the purpose of furthering religious doctrine

Requests should be submitted using the applicable invitation code below to one of our Community Outreach Funds in your local area. At this time we are unable to consider request from areas that do not have a Community Outreach Fund.
