Understanding various cultural settings where we do business is fundamental to developing an inclusive mind-and-skill set. For that purpose, we have implemented a cross-cultural competency resource that is available to all employees. GlobeSmart covers over 90 countries and helps expatriates and business travelers increase their awareness and understanding of local business skills, customs, culture, traveling details, names, phrases, calendar of holidays and celebrations and much more.

Included in this resource is a self-assessment on individual work styles that can be compared to others globally. This helps all of us adapt to different work styles and influence key relationships with customers and colleagues - a key skill known as the “platinum rule”, i.e., treating others the way they want to be treated. To build it requires curiosity and openness to difference and a reliable source of information.

We understand that a website will not transform our culture alone. Therefore, we will be augmenting GlobeSmart with a variety of workshops and coaching solutions that enhance individual and team learning at a deeper level.
