Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a Principal Programmer Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.  The position is based out of El Segundo, CA.
This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral).
In this role, the selected candidate will:
Builds and codes applications and/or modules using languages such as C#, VB, JavaScript, Jquery, CSS, etc., that address Environmental, Safety, Health and Medical (ESHM) requirements.
Provides patches and upgrades to existing systems.
May design graphical user interface (GUI) to meet the specific needs of users.
Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
May build add-on modules using application program language.
Gathers ESHM user feedback to modify and improve system capabilities as needed. 
A senior programmer will be providing guidance and initial training on the current Data Systems.  The programmers are part of the Data Systems team that provides tools to support ESHM operations across the Aerospace Systems Sector. 


Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 Years programming experience with a Bachelor's in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (e.g., Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience programming client and web based applications
  • Must have experience in 3 of the following: Visual Basic, C++, C#, Java, SQL Server or SharePoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with SQLServer or other relational databases 
  • Experience with .NET frameworks 
  • Experience with web technologies including: HTML, HTML5, CSS, BootStrap, JavaScript, and JQuery 
  • Experience programming web based applications and ESHM compliance database systems 
  • Experience working with Environmental Management Information Systems (EMIS) such as chemical tracking, chemical review, industrial hygiene tracking, audit tracking, etc. 
  • Understanding how to perform all functions in the software development life cycle (specification, analysis, design, coding, testing, maintenance, support, and documentation)
