Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Software Engineer - Tracker to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
The position is to support real-time target tracking and fusion software for an ISR system. Candidate will work as a software developer with the ability to analyze, design, develop, test, modify and maintain embedded applications and support tools.
The position includes working with both simulated and real radar data as well as flight test support. Candidate should have solid software development background (requirements through test) with tracking experience, mathematic skills and a willingness to solve difficult problems with little direction. The position requires the use of software engineering best practices and standards. Must be fluent in C++. Must be fluent in Matlab. Experience with java is helpful.
The successful candidate will be a go-getter, able to find root cause using debuggers/data analysis, comfortable in a lab environment, and be able to collaborate closely with Tracker Subject Matter Expert (SME), system engineers and integration/test engineers. Understanding and experience with any/all of correlation, kinematics, fusion (bonus tracking is a subset), Kalman filters, time propagation, MHT is desired. Experience with surveillance platforms is most applicable. Experience is fighter platforms could be helpful. Experience in Air-to-Ground or Air-to-Air tracking or Air-to-Surface at a minimum. Experience in more than one would be bonus.
