Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems sector is seeking a Systems Administrator to support the BAMS-D Ground Segment team at NAS Patuxent River, MD.  The selected candidate will maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interact with users and evaluates vendor products. Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinate installation and provides backup recovery. Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.

What Youll get to Do:
The selected candidate will provide operational lab support and ensure system hardware/software installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, information assurance, and repair activities are conducted in accordance with established policies and procedures.  The selected candidate will be required to work a rotating schedule that will include weekends and holidays.
 
Duties will include: 

Ensuring that system is made operational and available, at times specified by the customer

Collecting and reporting system maintenance data metrics to support Reliability and Maintainability efforts

Ensuring the system is configured in accordance with the Programs Configuration and Data Management Plans

Maintaining documentation and SOPs

Providing inventory control for system spares

Providing software maintenance, and installing software upgrades and patches

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) and 6+ years experience in a technical position supporting server environments.
  • Advanced Windows administrator skills to include active directory administration
  • Experience in VMware environment
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification
  • Current Active (DoD) Secret security clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Information Assurance experience
  • Linux Red Hat version 5/6
  • Cisco networking
  • Network+/Window OS certification
  • Active DoD Top Secret
