We are seeking an organized and analytical individual to become our new Cost Accountant. This person will be hands on reviewing inventory transactions within an automated ERP system.  This includes transactions for purchased material and manufacturing labor and overhead charges to work orders.  Other day to day responsibilities include resolving cost issues, reconciling inventory accounts and monitoring cost of sales. This position provides recommendations to management in support of the achievement of Company goals.
  • Ensure accuracy of master data in ERP system, production, and costing
  • Prepare various financial analysis related to manufacturing costs
  • Monitor and manage absorption costing and conduct variance analysis
  • Provide management with reports affecting prices and profitability of products or services
  • Develop and maintain cost of finished goods and production components in an ERP system
  • Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs
  • Ensure validity and accuracy of the ERP system through analysis, internal audit, and coordination with inventory control, production and work order processing
  • Lead and manage monthly excess inventory review process and perform month end close activities related to Cost Accounting
  • Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls
  • Represent Finance/Accounting on teams designed to improve operations, reduce costs, etc
  • Will assist Accounting and Operations group and other areas of the organization as needed


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • 2+ years of cost accounting experience
  • Must have strong analytic skills
  • Proficient Advanced in excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of  manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of Government Accounting
