Description

Where Technology and Teamwork come together... The qualified applicants will become part of Northrop Grumman's Postal Services and Solutions group. This is a contract to provide USPS Information Technology with professional, technical and support services to support the application development, database production support, help desk administration, LAN administration and various requirements for distributed technical support throughout the USPS enterprise.   

 

The Cobol Developer will build and code applications and/or modules using languages such as COBOL, DB2 and/or Oracle. Provides patches and upgrades to existing systems. May design graphical user interface (GUI) to meet the specific needs of users. Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
 
Roles and Responsibilities:
         Advanced knowledge of IBM batch, online and database mainframe systems.
         Knowledge of how to retrieve, edit and restore program code using the Changeman software
         Senior level analyst ability to research and investigate data problems and program abends in a JCL batch and online CICS environments

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • 5 Years with Bachelors in Science. 10 years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • 5 years COBOL development and support experience
  • 3 years CICS experience years IBM mainframe experience
  • 5 years DB2/Oracle development and support
  • Knowledge of FTP, AFT, EASYTRIEVE, FOCUS, JOBSCAN, FILEAID, SYNCSORT and MS access
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance; green card holder or US citizen
  • Must be able to work in St. Louis MO. on customer site; no relocation assistance is offered
  • Must have resided in the US for the last 5 years
  • Must not have travelled outside the US for a combined period of 6 months within the last 5 years


Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • 10 years COBOL development and support
  • 10 years IBM mainframe experience
  • 10 years DB2/Oracle development and support
