The spacecraft element’s mechanical shock test is simulated and causes separation of the spacecraft’s payload adapter after launch. Pictured to the far left is Webb’s Optical Telescope and Integrated Science Instrument (OTIS) module. Pictured on the far right is the transport tent Webb’s SCE will be enclosed in for transport outside of the pictured highbay.
