David A. Young, Ph.D.

David Young is the Director of Advanced Concepts in Northrop Grumman’s Analysis Center  where he is responsible for preparing in-depth assessments of military, political, technological, and economic developments worldwide.

Dr. Young is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a PhD in Aerospace Engineering. His thesis focus was on space architecture design. He also holds a M.S. degree from Georgia Tech and B.S. degrees in Physics and Aeronautical Engineering from Clarkson University. He has published multiple articles in both AIAA and International Astronautical Congress (IAC) forums.

Prior to joining the Analysis Center, Dr. Young graduated from the Northrop Grumman’s Future Technical Leaders (FTL) program. He worked in a variety of mission areas including: prompt global strike, ballistic missile defense, ICBM sustainment, and Aerospace Systems strategy and campaign development. Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Dr. Young held positions in a variety of different organizations including Lockheed Martin, NASA, the Tauri group, and the Air Force Research Laboratory.
