Larry Dodgen

Larry Dodgen is Corporate Lead Executive (CLE) for Huntsville, Alabama.

As corporate lead executive, Dodgen will serve as the company’s principal point of contact for all Northrop Grumman business in the Huntsville region. He will also promote and coordinate the activities of all Northrop Grumman sectors with local business and community interests.  Northrop Grumman is among Huntsville’s largest employers with more than 1,200 employees in the Huntsville/Madison County area.

Dodgen joined Northrop Grumman as vice president of strategy for the missile systems business area in 2007.  Most recently, Dodgen was a sector vice president within Northrop Grumman’s Information Systems sector and the executive lead for the corporation’s Missile Defense Integration Group.  He will continue in that role while serving as the company’s Huntsville CLE.

Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Dodgen served more than 34 years in the U.S. Army.  His final assignment was serving as Commander of the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/U.S. Army Forces Strategic Command.  Previously, Dodgen was deputy assistant secretary of defense for policy and missions and director of the Joint Theater Air and Missile Defense Organization.  He was the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command.

Dodgen earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, La.  He also holds a MBA in public administration from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Mo., and a master’s degree in national security and strategy from the United States Naval War College.

Northrop Grumman’s Huntsville team developed products that played a major role in Operation Iraqi Freedom, including command centers, workstations and precision munitions.  The company also established the premier Missile Defense Engineering and Analysis Center and the Huntsville Systems and Mechanical Engineering Center of Excellence.
