The Kinetic Energy Interceptor (KEI) stage 2 rocket motor. The Northrop Grumman and Raytheon team for the KEI program successfully completed the first in a series of test firings of the missile's second-stage rocket motor on Jan. 17, 2006, at teammate Alliant Techsystem's facility in Elkton, Md.
