Benjamin (Ben) Davies is Vice President and General Manager of the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division at Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems sector, a premier provider of autonomous & space systems and next-generation solutions to assist our customers worldwide, preserve freedom and advance human discovery.

Bio

Prior to leading SDS, Ben was the sector vice president and general manager of the Networked Information Solutions (NIS) division for Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems sector, a leading global provider, manufacturer and integrator of advanced, secure and agile software-defined systems and solutions. The NIS division was established in 2021 and is structured to create significant advancements in cross-domain interconnectivity, edge processing, and high-speed, cyber-secure, resilient command and control to provide our customers with a decisive advantage over increasing near-peer threats.

Davies is a cross-functional leader with over 20 years of experience, who has held program and leadership roles at both Northrop Grumman and L3 Communications (L-3). At L-3, he served as vice president of Engineering, and was responsible for development of advanced navigation, communication and instrumentation systems.

Davies also served as the vice president and B-2 program manager for the Military Aircraft Systems division within the Aeronautic Systems sector, where he led the product support, design, development, integration, and testing activities for the B-2 weapon system.

Previously, Davies served as the sector vice president of Enterprise Services and chief information officer for Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (AS). In this position, Davies was responsible for leading the delivery of infrastructure to support AS sector digital transformation as well as delivery of information technology, cyber-security and security services for the sector.

Davies has held a variety of leadership positions, having served in director-level positions in program management, systems engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering and product line management. His experience spans a broad spectrum of capabilities from inertial sensing, navigation, open architecture avionics and mission systems integration for Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and international platforms.

Davies earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California at Berkeley, and a master’s degree in engineering management from California State University, Northridge.
