We have a strong pedigree in image processing software, with our spot position measurement algorithms, advanced bar code and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) add-ons, and foreground noise suppression algorithms.

The Shack-Hartmann wavefront processing technique we helped popularize in the 1980s precisely measures the positions of large arrays of spots to deduce an optical wavefront's shape. Since then, we've used similar techniques to measure everything from the Hubble Space Telescope Corrector Optics to shipping cartons!

For the Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) market we augment other companies' bar code decode and OCR software with proprietary software that successfully reads information on some "hopelessly mangled" labels.

We've also implemented software modeled after "Lucky Imaging", a technique used by astronomers to get clearer photos, for industrial applications. In situations where the item being observed is obscured by flames, smoke, fog, passers-by, or any other transient phenomena, the results can be dramatic.
