Environmental Testing

Environmental Testing

Northrop Grumman’s test facilities feature more than 30 temperature conditioning chambers ranging in size from 54 ft³ to 5760 ft³. These conditioning chambers are rated for energetic materials, can be used for conditioning of energetic or inert test articles and are capable of temperature ranges from -100 to 200 °F.

Rain, salt spray and humidity conditions are also available (MIL-E-5272C compliant).

These test facilities are suitable for accelerated aging, long-term aging, temp shock and temp cycle testing. Temperature stabilization can be achieved within about 2-3 hours.

The environmental conditioning facilities utilize a 2-ton monorail and transfer cart.

Additional conditioning facilities are available for research and development applications including three small chambers and a 10 ft x 10 ft walk-in/work-in chamber. These chambers are capable of temperatures from 15 to 210 °F and humidity from 2% to 98% relative humidity.
