Description

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking Cyber Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located at Annapolis Junction.


Roles and Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Education Requirement: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.


Security Clearance: Must have an active TS/SCI w/Polygraph


Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities needed.
Nine (9) years of applicable Software Engineering/Development experience with Bachelor's in Science. Seven (7) years with Masters. Four (4) years with PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these skills will be given preferential consideration.
Applies extensive technical expertise, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long- term perspective, for desired results.
Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.
Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
