The Systems Engineering team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as an RF Engineer - Principal/Sr. Principal Engineer Systems based out of Aurora, Colorado.
We are seeking a communications and RF engineer with hardware and integration experience to work in our Aurora, CO office. The selected candidate will be responsible for design of SATCOM ground receiving and transmitting antenna systems and the associated RF signal chain. The candidate must have a solid understanding of end-to-end RF and microwave systems, performance modeling and link budgets. An advanced understanding of modulation techniques, encoding, error correction, noise measurement and estimation, atmospheric loss and other noise sources on signal quality is required. Prior experience with a range of common industry solutions for command, telemetry, data downlink, digital processing and forwarding is preferred. The candidate must have an advanced understanding of signal processing in both the RF domain and digital domain and of A/D and D/A conversions.
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing multiple concurrent procurements for antenna and RF processing equipment. The candidate must also be capable of conducting industry trade studies, drafting detailed vendor specifications to meet specific requirement sets and architecting end-to-end solutions incorporating a range of industry solutions for RF and digital signal processing. The candidate must be capable of independently managing suppliers of RF equipment from a technical, schedule and cost perspective.
The candidate should have experience with General Purpose Processors (servers & workstations), Storage Devices, and Network Infrastructure. The selected candidate will be responsible for technical documentation creation/review. The ability to present highly technical material to varied audiences to include executive level and highly technical experts is preferred. The candidate should be able to operate independently with little oversight in a dynamic environment and handle diverse assignments with efficiency, finding unique solutions and working in a very collaborative and fast-paced environment.
