The Advanced Concepts and Technologies (AC&T) group of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (MS) is seeking an innovative, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Engineering Manager 2 to oversee both the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and its supporting Engineers and a team of represented Material Control Specialists.
The Manager will join our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) semiconductor foundry, which develops and implements advanced semiconductor device technologies to support capabilities within and across the Sectors to distinguish NGC from its competitors.
Northrop Grummans ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, Carbon Nanotubes) and providing leading edge technology development in superconducting electronics. Our devices enable a number of Northrop Grummans ground based radars, avionic radars, and space systems.
The primary functions of this manager are two-fold:
As Engineering Manager, the candidate will be responsible for management and oversight of the ATL MES system, its supporting engineers, and all ATL MES activities which typically include:
Work and collaborate with MES users, engineering, and technical support teams within ATLs Fabrication and Test / Assembly labs to set up and maintain Workflows/ route building setup required to process lots in the labs.
Create and maintain user accounts in MES, SPACE and other systems.
Work and collaborate with MES users, engineering, and apps team on improving operational performance and turnaround time for MES system user and Workflow/Trip Ticket requests
Formulate and maintain MES procedures and documentation
Provide Training and training materials for new and existing users
Identify opportunities to optimize and integrate isolated user systems and or automate existing processes for efficiency
Be a part of short and long term projects to implement process improvements and efficiencies
Implement methodologies and processes for reporting performance metrics
The MES Manager should have quantitative, analytical, and process improvement skills; good organization, project management, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; and basic IT related skillsets, and possess a desire to lead people.
As Manager for 1st Shift Production Control Team, the candidate will be responsible for the direct supervision of represented employees working in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. In this role the manager will be involved with and responsible for planning materials, and supporting several semiconductor fabrication labs. Other responsibilities include:
Provide direction and guidance to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies
Responsible managing represented personnel supporting Fab functions necessary to develop and execute plans and schedules associated with the satisfaction of customer requirements supporting engineering development, manufacturing, and calibration (i.e. engineering breadboards/systems/ LRUs/sub-assemblies/spares/capital acquisition or rental, and storage of materials and equipment) via various manual and computerized production, inventory and material control systems.
Involved in staffing decisions, training, and driving engagement efforts to achieve the employee's highest potential
Provide management with progress reports and presentations
Work independently across the organization to support Fab needs and goals
Maintain a safe work environment
