Northrop Grummans Software Engineers work in teams to design, develop, document, test, debug, and deploy applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.  As a key member of the team working in a fast-paced environment, you will become part of Northrop Grummans SAVANT Program where we encourage innovation and forward thinking and expect our developers to take a high level of ownership through the software life cycle.  You will work in a people-focused environment where you will interact with users, customers, and other developers working on Department of Defense (DoD) systems at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC). 

   

You will be responsible for the entire software development lifecycle of a web-based, geospatial application deployed across multiple networks at NASIC.  The technology stack for this application includes HTML, JavaScript, Java, Perl, PHP, scripting utilizing multiple languages, Excel and VBA, and geospatial mapping services.  The person who fills this role will work directly with customers and will present the application to various audiences (e.g., civilian and military of all ranks), so good communications skills are a must.  You will be looked upon to provide additional technical assistance to NASIC analysts, as requested.  Travel a few times a year to various conferences is required.  Here you will gain knowledge of the future direction of the Intelligence Community and then how to leverage that knowledge to support NASIC. The selected candidate must possess a Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret/SCI security clearance on day one.

 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the entire lifecycle of software development including requirements definition, architecture and development specifications, coding, quality assurance testing, deployment, documentation and support.
  • Responsible for the coding, deployment, maintenance, optimization, and documentation of software applications in multi-tier, browser-based, enterprise environments.

  • Perform unit testing to verify the quality of code produced.

  • Collaborate with other developers and product analysts effectively.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM degree.
2+ years of professional software development experience with JavaScript, jQuery, HTML.
1 or more years of experience working with Structured Query Language (SQL)/Database and Objected Oriented software development concepts.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current Top Secret /SCI Department of Defense (DoD) Security clearance.
Achieve at least Security+ certification within six months of start date.
 
Preferred Qualifications: 
Any one of Security+, CASP, CSSLP, CISSP certifications.  

Experience with developing software applications in Java.

Experience developing with Python, CSS, XML, XSD, JSON.

Experience developing and/or using web services.

Experience with web frameworks (e.g., Angular, jQueryUI).

Experience developing secure web applications (e.g., HTTPS, PKI).

Experience with web application deployment (e.g., Oracle WebLogic, Apache Tomcat).

Experience with Eclipse (or similar IDE).

Experience with Microsoft Windows, UNIX, and Linux.

Experience with configuration management tools (SVN, Git, JIRA, Confluence).

Experience with Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
