The Engineering team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer based out of China Lake, CA.
This position is a permanent position to support and provide ALQ-218 advanced receiver, technical support and subject matter expertise for the EA-18G Growler program at the Naval Base at China Lake, Ridgecrest, Ca. The candidate shall support planning, prepare and conduct system and software integration, tests and demonstrations on new, modified or upgraded Airborne Electronic Attack and Electronic Warfare systems.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the support of lab, ground, flight integration and test events by developing and updating integration and test plans. The candidate will provide on-site technical support at NAWS China Lake, CA. This support shall assist the Government in the maintenance, configuration, and testing of the ALQ-218 receiver system on the EA-18G platform. Technical support shall include in-depth knowledge of ALQ-218 hardware design, maintenance, configuration, operation, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
In addition to ALQ-218 technical support, the candidate shall provide and maintain support for ALQ-218 related test support tools, software applications, and system documentation including, but not limited to, compatible computer tools to configure start-up scripts, the NGC-provided Data Acquisition Tool (DAT) application, system wiring diagrams, and system fault vector code interpretation. Key responsibilities for this position will also include ALQ-218 engineering and logistics reach-back support to on-site contractor technical representatives, as required.
This position is an excellent opportunity to learn the mission we perform as well as grow into a subject matter expert for an advance EA-18G subsystem, the ALQ-218 advanced receiver. The qualified candidate can expect excellent training, knowledge transfer and excellent colloboration and support from our NGC teams in Camarillo/Pt. Mugu and Baltimore.
Candidates should expect travel and short term assignments to our Baltimore and Camarillo NGC facilities for training and knowledge transfer activities on the EA_18G mission and the ALQ-218. Duration of this travel may be up to 1 month in duration for an initial introduction to the EA-18G AEA platform, its mission and detailed training on the ALQ-218.
