Aerospace Systems is currently seeking a Composites Modification and Repair Mechanic.. This person will perform modification, refurbishment, rework and repair on composite details and assemblies per engineering drawings, process specifications and nonconformance records in a multi program environment. They will perform advanced composite repairs such as scarfing, core bond, drill and fill, and patch repairs. They must possess competencies in the composite processes of layup, bonding, curing, assembly, fastener installation and repair. Verify quality tolerance acceptances with the use of inspection techniques and tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gages.
High school diploma or equivalent in addition to a two year technical degree or certificate in a related field and/or 4 years of related composite experience to include repair.
Possess the ability to work in a high performing team environment while seamlessly transitioning between multiple programs. Experience maintaining EH&S, FOE, timekeeping and calibration compliances.
Demonstrated experience working with ovens, heat lamps and thermocouples, as well as hand and pneumatic tools in processes such as layup, bonding, vacuum bagging, curing, sanding, trimming, drilling, countersinking, fastener installation, and self-inspecting repairs.
Must be willing to work overtime and accommodate shift changes as required.
