Position Description: Serve as lead Global Hawk Mission Planner at Grand Sky, to include both process development and individual mission plan production in a dynamic flight test, simulation test, and/or operational environment. Principal efforts are in support of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers, as well as to support Grand Sky mission engineering and flight test activities. Work with vendors and support organizations to establish/configure mission planning tools and software. Produce aircraft mission plans to accomplish test, training and/or operational objectives in accordance with company and customer standards, to include configuration control via approved engineering release process. Assess mission issues and risks, and develop resolutions to meet customer objectives. Act as the central point of contact for customer and company program organizations to ensure adherence to procedures and meet mission success. Develop routing and contingency logic, as required. Produce related mission planning products for customers to review mission tasking and applicable intelligence. Develop any mission planning training, exercise support or contingency operations in accordance with applicable standards. Coordinate airspace requirements with applicable domestic and international agencies depending on flight profiles. Coordinate with/provide reporting to program managers, and may be responsible for ensuring all cost, schedule and technical requirements of assigned mission and projects are coordinated, prepared and accurate. Occasional domestic and/or international travel is required.
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline with 9 years of experience in aviation or related flight operations OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of relevant experience OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 4 years of relevant experience.
4 years of Mission Planning experience
Active Interim Secret Clearance
Able to travel approx. 10% of the time, domestic and/or international
Experience using Air Force Mission Support System (AFMSS) and/or Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS). Global Hawk preferred
Former military aircrew and/or Global Hawk experience
Ability to work independently with meticulous attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience interacting with international government, military, or other organizations and/or personnel
Active Secret Clearance
