Technician (CNC Mill Technician) is responsible for performing highly
diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and
facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance
systems and processes that support the achievement of the sites business
Technician (CNC Mill Technician) Job Duties:
Their main expertise and
experience shall be in the use of CNC Mills programing and Operation.
Shall use their experience and expertise using other machines such as but not
limited to; CNC Mills, Vertical Mills, Swiss Screw machines, CNC Lathes, Engine
Lathe, Bridgeports, Surface Grinders, Drill Presses, Lathes etc. Would need to
cross train on other shop equipment as needed.
Knowledgeable with Auto CAD
software program; can read, edit and create blueprints, preferred.
Adjusts functional parts of
production equipment using hand tools.
Repair machinery using
machine shop tools, welders, sheet metal shop tools.
Ensures operation of machinery and
mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and
adjustments on production equipment, conveyors, pumps, motors and pneumatic
systems; following blueprints, diagrams, sketches, operations manuals,
manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting
Use of proper lock-out-tag-out procedures and use of safe work
practices with high quality standards and efficiency
Responsible for working with engineering
design, Engineering R&D, production manufacturing, ballistics and quality
teams to document symptoms and solutions for identified equipment problems in
order to support the improvement of equipment. Additionally, as required, you
will perform and participate in the execution of improvement projects geared at
improving the performance and quality of production equipment.
Support engineering project work
across all of the plant.
Locates sources of problems by
observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems.
Maintains safe and clean
working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Confer with technicians and submit
reports of test results to engineering department and recommend design or
Contributes to team effort by
accomplishing related results as needed, is dedicated to the teams mission.
Remote Drilling of equipment and
components that may involve energetics/hazardous areas.
Is comfortable working with ammunition, explosive materials and heavy
material handling equipment as required.
Will work in Energetics areas as
needed to complete project work.
Associates degree/certificate in
Tool & Die or Precision Machinist, Journeyman Machinist Level preferred.
At a minimum an
apprenticeship/certification in mechanical craft apprenticeship through DOL or
other, will consider supplementing with equivalent number of years of education
and production maintenance experience depending on the case.
2-4 years Manufacturing/Tooling
Making experience, Journeyman level of expertise using general manual machines
such as but not limited to; Engine Lathe, Vertical Mill, Surface Grinder, Drill
Strong mechanical trouble shooting
skills. Mechanical aptitude to perform repairs and maintenance on equipment.
Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools
Able to read metrology instruments
such as but not limited to; calipers, micrometers, laser micrometer,
Knowledge of CNC machining and
programming software is required, with a minimum 2yrs experience
