Northrop Grumman Innovations sector is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team at our Iuka, MS facility.

Role description & Responsibilities:

  • Lead Quality Engineering responsible for coordination and execution of Program direct Quality activities and scope
  •  Lead the development of First Article Inspection plans and oversee their successful completion including design models interrogation.
  • Lead the development of inspection plans which incorporate inspection best practices and techniques. 
  • Manage data collection, analysis, and trending to assure Quality cost control
  • Work closely with the customer to communicate MRB issues and come up with solutions that work for the business. 

  • Authoring documentation to instruct operations on successful execution of quality requirements. 
  • Writing and managing non-conformances & corrective actions.
  • Active contributor to design change control reviews and implementation
  • Identify and support sub tier supplier FAI activities when required
  • Statistical Quality Control (SQC) aptitude and understanding of Key Characteristic analysis
  • Execute project that focus on reductions to Cost of Poor Quality through innovation and process improvements using LEAN strategies
  • Support internal audits, process observations and area assessments.
  • Supporting production Operations via help chain and troubleshooting in collaboration with IPT.

  • Investigate options for automation and reporting to increase Quality data efficiency
  • Training team members on Quality application features and functions including engineers, technicians, program quality operators, leaders, and customer support team members.
  • Work in a cross functional team to develop and implement process improvements. 
  • Support the program office with special projects and working new proposals.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements:  

  • Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of directly related experience in the inspection of aerospace mechanical, electrical, and propulsion systems including their detail components in an ISO9001 or AS9100 compliant environment.

  • Requires a B.S in an Engineering discipline or 0 years of experience and M.S in and Engineering discipline

  •  Must be able to obtain DOD clearance

Preferred Experience:

  • Composite processing experience

  • Experience in Quality Assurance & processing MRB

  • Understanding of AS9100 requirements

  • DOD clearance
