Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.


We are currently seeking an experienced Analyst for our Financial Planning & Analysis team in our Propulsion Systems (Bacchus/Promontory) office.


Role description & Responsibilities:

The Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst is responsible to be a key player in:


  • Consolidation, coordination and preparation of the Propulsion Systems business unit Annual Operating Plan and Long-Range Strategic Plan
  • Consolidation, coordination and preparation of monthly Propulsion System business unit forecasting of Sales, Operating Margin, Awards, and Cash

  • Consolidation, coordination and preparation monthly Propulsion Systems Operations Review package

  • Take the lead in preparing various special studies relating to the FP&A function and presenting the data to all levels of management

  • Ensuring that all FP&A reports and analysis are accurate, complete and submitted on time

  • Learning and understanding the Financial Systems and tools, and be committed to improving and streamlining current processes and practices


Experience Requirements:


  • Candidate must have a minimum of 6 years of Finance/Accounting/ Business experience.


Skills & Qualifications:

  •  Broad understanding of Accounting and Finance.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and Government Contracting.
  • Strong Computer skills with advanced expertise in Excel and data mining and manipulation.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture.



  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or Business or related field required.
  • MBA is a plus.
