NGIS is currently seeking experienced Hypersonics Programs Project Engineers to provide leadership to our Hypersonics Programs team in our Bacchus, UT and/or  Promontory, UT offices. 
 
Role description & Responsibilities:
 
The Hypersonics Programs Project Engineers are responsible for furthering the development of the component area(s) of the HBTD First Stage and Second Stage   at the Bacchus and Promontory facilities as well as provide delivery of the first several flight test stages. We are currently seeking 3 Project Engineers to fill the following roles for LM IRCPS:
  1. RMA Project Engineer Responsible for integration of FS and SS componentry at Bacchus Integration facility (Design, Verification and execution).  Also responsible for design of raceway, Thermal Protection, Stage Bracketry, and Nozzle Shields/Plugs.  50 Flight sets planned.
  2. SE Project Engineer Responsible for conducting all necessary SRRs, SDRs, PDRs, CDRs, FCAs and PCAs for IRCPS programs.  Responsible for finalizing requirements and execution of all verifications. Coordinate all requirements with customer.
  3. Implementation Project Engineer Responsible for establishing an overall execution plan and then working engineering documentation, procurement documentation, and hardware through the systems such that all critical development and qualification milestones are met. 
Other roles and responsibilities for project engineers includes:
  • Coordinates planning, organization, development, implementation, integration and completion of engineering projects
  • Uses specific knowledge to successfully research, plan, communicate and achieve objectives through program and/or project team. 
  • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. 
  • Applies knowledge of advanced engineering and scientific methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems, (as well as opportunities for improvement).
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and plans methods of approach and organized means (integrated logic flow diagrams) to create new products or technologies for program. 
  • Improves the engineering process by recommending and seeing thru to successful implementation; corrects technical analysis and design to ensure technically robust, timely, and on budget completion. 
  • Manages defined multi discipline technical projects of significant complexity and scope through organizing, delegating and managing work of other team members and contractors. 
  • Directs projects and coordinates activities concerned with technical development and project schedule. 
  • Performs engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints.
Job Duties: 
  •    Project Engineer supporting IRCPS programs
  •    MRB support for assemblies, components, and materials
  •    Production floor support at Promontory and Bacchus
  •    Represent the program to the customer

Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Self-Directed, reliable, detailed oriented but able to understand the big picture, flexible, and a demonstrated aptitude for rapid learning
  • Excellent communicator, demonstrated ability to listen as well as communicate up, down, and across the organizational structure within and across programs, functions, and organizations from operators to executive VP level management in the audiences own language.  Demonstrated public speaking and effective technical communication ability
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining focused results within reliability, quality, schedule, and budget requirements/ constraints
  • Ability to create and present Technical justification for Material Review Board signature authority as well as Technical Change Board engineering changes and implementation experience with Process Change Control Board.
Experience Requirements:  
 
Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, (an advanced engineering degree and/or post graduate research may count toward engineering experience).
  • Ability to travel (if applicable):  Travel expectation of 5% maximum.
  • Ability to direct others: Coordinate Engineering as well as teams of multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to present in executive level reviews, weekly customer meetings, as well as working group meetings
  • Self-Directed, reliable, detailed oriented but able to understand the big picture, flexible, and a demonstrated aptitude for rapid learning
  • Excellent communicator, demonstrated ability to listen as well as communicate up, down, and across the organizational structure within and across programs, functions, and organizations from operators to executive VP level management in the audiences own language.  Demonstrated public speaking and effective technical communication ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining focused results within reliability, quality, schedule, and budget requirements/ constraints
  • Ability to create and present Technical justification for customer Technical Interchange Meetings as well as Material Review Board.
  • Ability to achieve a Secret clearance
 Education/Certifications
  • BS degree in Engineering or related field required with 7 years experience; or
  • MS degree with 5 years experience; or PhD with 2 years experience
Experience Preferred
  • Ability to direct others: Coordinate Engineering as well as teams of multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to present in executive level reviews, weekly customer meetings, as well as working group meetings
  • Active Secret clearance
