Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as an Embedded Software Engineer or a Principal Embedded Software Engineer based out of McClellan, CA (Sacramento area).  
 
What Youll get to Do:


  • Design, develop, document, test and debug systems software that enables the unique and innovative hardware systems
  • Apply appropriate corporate and industry standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle, following Agile and DevOps methodologies. 
  • Diagnose problems encountered during application integration with your products and those developed by others, and address fixes/enhancements according to prescribed program processes. 
  • Design and develop complex software using a variety of programming and scripting languages, on diverse platforms including UNIX, Linux and Windows based operating systems, utilizing modern configuration management tools and related software development tools.

This requisition may be filled at either an Embedded Software Engineer level or a Principal Embedded Software Engineer level.

Qualifications

This requisition may be filled at either an Embedded Software Engineer level or a Principal Embedded Software Engineer level.

Basic Qualifications for a Software Engineer:
  • Bachelor degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 2 years of relevant work experience, or Master of Science STEM degree.
  • Experience developing embedded systems running Linux or other real time kernels 
  • Hardware integration experience 
  • Experience with C or C++ 
  • Experience with systematic testing methods 
  • Solid understanding of all phases of software development, and practical experience in an Agile / DevOps environment 
  • US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI (access) security clearance

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Software Engineer:
  • Bachelor degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 5 years of relevant work experience, or Master of Science STEM degree with 3 years relevant work experience.
  • Experience developing embedded systems running Linux or other real time kernels 
  • Hardware integration experience 
  • Experience with C and C++ 
  • Experience with systematic testing methods 
  • Solid understanding of all phases of software development, and practical experience in an Agile / DevOps environment 
  • US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI (access) security clearance


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with Java 
  • Current active TS/SCI (access) security clearance 
  • Some experience developing signal processing systems. 
  • Experience with Xilinx silicon-on-chip tools and development.
