Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineer or Principal Systems Engineer based out of McClellan, CA (Sacramento area).
 
This position is perfect for a candidate that can lead design to produce new hardware products at our McClellan facility that support our customers.  
 
Ideal candidates for this position have substantial breadth and depth of knowledge in all aspects of engineering with a focus in producing deployable hardware products.  Less experienced candidates that demonstrate high technological aptitude with a willingness and desire to learn are equally qualified for this position.  

This requisition may be filled at either a Systems Engineer level or a Principal Systems Engineer level.

Qualifications

This requisition may be filled at either a Systems Engineer level or a Principal Systems Engineer level.
 

Basic Qualifications for a Systems Engineer:
Bachelor degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 2 years of relevant work experience, or Master of Science STEM degree.
Experience in at least one of the following areas: 
  • Signal processing: Fourier analysis, data conditioning techniques, modeling and simulation in Matlab or python
  • Digital communications: common analog and digital communication schemes such as AM/FM/QAM, timing and recovery techniques, understanding of related system requirements
  • RF analysis:  computing link budget, cascade analysis, modeling and simulation in Matlab or python
  • Detection and estimation theory: algorithms for detecting known or unknown signals in noise, data conditioning, estimating parameters from data such as received signal strength, frequency or phase shift
  • Direction finding, spatial array processing, and geolocation: experience with systems that produce direction finding and geolocation results, line of position calculation, and/or fusion of line of position, range, TDOA/FDOA data to form a geolocation estimate
  • System and/or subsystem design leadership and direct technical contribution in your particular domain specialty such as RF/hardware, DSP design, RF communication, RF collection, and phased array antennas.
Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Bachelor degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 5 years of relevant work experience, or Master of Science STEM degree with 3 years of relevant work experience, or PhD.

Experience in at least one of the following areas:
  • Signal processing: Fourier analysis, data conditioning techniques, modeling and simulation in Matlab or python
  • Digital communications: common analog and digital communication schemes such as AM/FM/QAM, timing and recovery techniques, understanding of related system requirements
  • RF analysis:  computing link budget, cascade analysis, modeling and simulation in Matlab or python

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; or 10+ years experience
  • Experience in System Engineering in manned or unmanned airborne RF sensors and/or signal processing systems
  • Familiarity with system engineering requirements management (RVTM, I&T, V&V)
  • Subject matter expertise in several of the areas listed above
