Description

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Principal System Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.


 


Essential Functions:


 


The successful candidate will be a Systems Engineer with architecture and modeling experience. This engineer will be responsible for developing aircraft system and subsystem architecture. The architect will work with several stakeholders (subsystem developers, system integrators, system testers, system requirements engineers and SMEs) to mature the system architecture through functional analysis and Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes.  This engineer will be responsible for the approval of the following products:


 


Modeling functional threads in support of safety analysis and airworthiness certification


Subsystem/system interface input/output between subsystems to provide specification of end-to-end system capabilities for developers


Requirement gaps


Update subsystem/system architecture in CORE and/or Rhapsody models


Mapping between requirements and design

Qualifications


Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelors Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 5 years of software engineering experience OR-

Masters Degree in STEM and 3 years of experience OR PhD in STEM 


Candidate must have previous system architecture development experience.


Candidate must have and be able to maintain an active U.S. Government security clearance at the DoD Secret or Top Secret level with a background reinvestigation date within 6 years.


Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain specific program access.



Preferred Qualifications: 



Bachelors of Science or higher degree in Applied Math, EE, SW, or Computer Science.


Experience using Rhapsody and/or CORE to model large systems with multiple developers.


Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred.


Preference for final active DoD Secret within 5 years.
