Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Manager, Programs 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.


Essential Functions:

Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

This individual will be responsible for managing the production and delivery of Avionics Products in support of the E-2D Production IPT. The Avionics subsystem Integrated Product Team Lead responsibilities include planning, risk management and delivery of Communications, Navigation, Data- link equipment and mission computers within the cost, schedule and technical performance requirements. Responsibilities include support of laboratory and flight line integration. The Program manager will be responsible for managing resources and directing the work of employees assigned to programs/projects from the various functional disciplines required to accomplish the work. PM will ensure configuration items comply with contractual requirements and meet all deliverables and warranty provisions. PM will act as key interface with subcontractor management teams to ensure components support program needs and adhere to the production master plans and schedules. Position requires establishing strong relationships and maintaining open communications with Navy customer PMA-231.In this role, the PM will identify and mitigate performance risks and issues. PM will support ECPs and proposal preparation through, requirements definition, supplier statements of work, delivery terms and evaluation of supplier proposals. PM will also support negotiations and ensure the implementation of supplier contract changes. Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of 9 years' experience in the aerospace or defense
  • Must have a minimum 3 years management experience within an IPT work environment.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in aircraft avionic systems.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience managing large subcontracts. Cost account management, earned value, risk management experience.
  • Must have experience with direct military customer interactions
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Previous E2 program experience. Program Management experience managing contracts larger than $50M.
