Description

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Quality Engineer to join our team in Orlando, Florida.

This Quality Engineering (QE) position will support the Communications Business Unit, Secure Networks Operations Operating Unit and requires a knowledge of Quality Management Systems based on AS/ ISO specifications and standards.  The QE will act as a main Quality focal point and will be responsible for applying and maintaining quality processes and policies to ensure compliance with both internal and contractual requirements.

Ensuring the total integration of quality requirements throughout all phases of design, planning, procurement, production, test, delivery and post-delivery support

Participating in the preparation and approval of proposals, schedules, cost estimates and budgets

Driving the corrective action process to ensure both timely and effective root cause analyses and preventative actions to support  Internal Issues, Customer Complaints and Supplier Discrepancies

Collaborate with engineering and management functions to ensure quality standards are in place

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications for a Quality Engineer:

 

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a related STEM field

  • 2+ years of relevant experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with an organization at all levels

  • Ability to solve problems independently and effectively

     

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Quality Engineer:

 

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a related STEM field

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with an organization at all levels

  • Ability to solve problems independently and effectively


 
Preferred Qualifications:  

 

  • Quality or engineering role experience

  • Working knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100

  • Experience in programming 

  • Degree in computer engineering/computer science

  • Six Sigma Training, Green or Black Belt status would also be a plus
