Astro Aerospace, a Strategic Business Unit of Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, is currently in search of a Manufacturing Engineer 2/3 to support our Oxnard, CA facilities. Astro is the industry leader in space deployable systems, and since 1958, Astro Aerospace has enable complex missions to Earth orbit, Mars and beyond with innovative deployable space structures and mechanisms. Our products have been successfully employed on hundreds of space missions with 100% successful deployments in space.


The Manufacturing Engineer 2/3 will be responsible for the following:

  • Help maintain the production schedule, write manufacturing procedures that defines sequence of operations and manufacturing requirements for product builds, write purchase requisitions for required purchase components, provide guidance to Engineering regarding design concepts to ensure the best manufacturing technique is being used, participate in tool design reviews to ensure tools are feasible and reduce build times and program costs during assembly.
  • Manufacturing Engineers for Astro Aerospace are expected to provide

    technical solutions to a wide range of complex and difficult problems.

  • They are problem solvers who have the ability to provide results that are

    innovative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization


  • We seek Manufacturing Engineers that use a unique skill set

    that includes a hands-on approach and act as the technical representative

    voice for the Manufacturing organization.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or an engineering related field.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting Blueprints and 3-D models
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership, clients, and vendors
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in a Technical Engineering Field

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience with Solidworks
  • Experience working hands-on in a production assembly environment
  • Experience providing innovative techniques focused on improving product designs and tooling assemblies or equipment
