Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a System Integration Engineer 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Sacramento, CA.

The selected candidate will coordinate and perform hands on integration of HW and SW systems responsible for the development and implementation of software integration plans.

Essential Functions:
  • Assist with software build activities, including production of media and performing installation and checkout on delivered systems.  
  • Exercise software to verify correct implementation of newly integrated functionality and ensure no impact on existing functionality.
  • Exercise nominal and off-nominal scenarios to increase confidence in expected behavior.
  • Perform problem investigation on the system without impacting configuration. 
  • Document issues discovered through Defect Reports (DRs) and verify DR code corrections.
  • Coordinate with Information Security; assist in the compliance and application of Department of Defense (DoD) security requirements. 
  • Advise SW and Test Engineers on compliance, requirements, and process as it applies to the data center and its administration. 
  • Identify changes to Software, Hardware and/or security settings necessary to reach an executable state. 
  • Document procedures and processes that will enable customer operation and maintenance of the system.
  • Developing engineering documentation for system configuration.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university.
  • 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters
  • An active in-scope DoD Top Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain Special Program Access.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience with VmWare and Windows and Unix operating systems
  • Experience in requirements review and evaluation to ensure completeness of test program; Analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive reports.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Understanding of unit testing, including path, line, and bound coverage.
  • Security + Certificate for administrators or ability to obtain Security + Certificate
  • Familiarity with:
    • Scripting languages (Microsoft PowerShell, Bash and Pyton), messaging protocols like DDS and JMS and Web Services (SOA and Rest).
    • Linux/Solaris systems with basic commands.
    • Developing/integrating enterprise solutions for Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) in a SOA environment.
    • Object oriented programming, design patterns, JMS, Web Services, XML and related technologies (i.e., XPath, XSLT, XSD).
    • Developing software / writing code in Java, C++, C# or other OOP languages.
