Job Description Inspector 3 2nd Shift (1:00 pm 10:30 pm) San Diego, CA

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform Receiving Inspection verifications on a variety of aerospace components and assemblies, including verification of materials and processes to ensure conformance of Purchase Order and Engineering requirements

  • Perform In-process, Final, and Source inspections as required to support organizational objectives

  • Perform First Article inspections in accordance with AS9102

  • Update Costpoint database with Receiving Inspection status

  • Maintain First Pass Yield metrics for all inspections performed

  • Ensure that all records are properly organized and filed electronically

  • Support equipment calibration process


Qualified Candidates should possess the following:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

  • Proficient blueprint reading skills

  • Proficient use of hand tools, and experience with surface plate set ups

  • Ability to perform electronic transactions using Costpoint and TIPQA Databases

  • Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5

  • 5 or more years of experience working as an Inspector in an aerospace environment

  • Experience inspecting composite structures and panels preferred

  • Experience inspecting tight tolerance machined components with complex geometry

  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems

  • Experience with CMMs and Portable Arms using PCDMIS a plus

  • Experience working with reduced dimension drawings and/or CAD files a plus

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
