Northrop Grumman Technology Services is seeking a Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified diverse individuals at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The selected applicant will become part of a Northrop Grumman team of professionals who are actively supporting computer operations for an avionics test and development laboratory.

 

The Cyber Systems Engineer works in classified operations, in a team environment, supporting a large variety of computing systems, requiring a wide range of solutions to solve technical problems in support of Department of Defense programs. The selected candidate will ensure optimal operation of systems, ensure updates are applied in a timely manner, and work with other computer engineering and software development teams to resolve technical issues.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • General networking support to include installation, configuration and maintenance of switches
  • USAF Avionics lab support to include network performance tuning, packet and protocol analysis, troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Implements and integrates avionics equipment into existing and/or new network infrastructure
  • Provides specifications and detailed drawings for network and lab architecture
  • Participates in customer planning sessions and project implementations
  • Recommends appropriate actions to improve performance, monitoring and tuning systems to achieve optimum user performance and load balancing
  • Systems administration of multiple operating systems to include Windows Operating Systems, Unix, Linux and Hyper-V; to include troubleshooting, configuration, and integration
  • Utilizes systems analysis techniques to determine root cause analysis of systems failures or to correct deficiencies in operations

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Must have one of the following:

    • Bachelors degree in Computer Science (CS), Management of Information Systems (MIS), or related field with a minimum of 5 years of network and computer support experience in an enterprise environment

    • Masters degree in CS, MIS, or related field with a minimum of 3 years of network and computer support experience in an enterprise environment

  • Valid CompTIA Security+ CE or CISSP certification to meet DoD 8570 requirements

  • Must have active U.S. Department of Defense (Dod) Secret security clearance, or an inactive security clearance (last active within the past 2 years)

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain additional program clearances.

  • Must be able to work on-site at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

  

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • CCNA or similar certification

  • Expertise with networking concepts and experience with setting up and troubleshooting Extreme and/or Cisco networking equipment

  • At least 1 year of experience with Linux system and server administration

  • Windows and Red Hat Linux certifications

  • Knowledge of and experience with RMF/JSIG and DoD STIGs

  • At least 3 years of experience managing network switches and gear
