Northrop Grumman's philanthropic initiatives focus on building meaningful partnerships that transform our communities. Working with our dynamic partners, we strive to support the diverse needs of the communities where we live and work through giving from the company, the Northrop Grumman Foundation and employees. Our core areas of focus include education, military and veterans, health and human services, and environmental stewardship.

Northrop Grumman Commitment to Social Justice and Unity

We have a responsibility to enable change in our communities. To underscore our commitment, we have established a Social Justice Campaign through the Northrop Grumman Foundation. We are giving $1,000,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and we are matching up to $1,000,000 of employees’ personal donations to organizations that focus on social justice and equality.

Commitment to Communities During COVID-19

Northrop Grumman is answering the call to support COVID-19 relief efforts, including funding for food banks; to support frontline healthcare workers, first responders and service members; and to get students access to technology for virtual learning. When the Northrop Grumman Foundation announced a match program for COVID-19 relief donations, employees contributed nearly $1,000,000 to local, national and global organizations.

 


Company Giving

Our corporate contributions support public schools and 501(c )(3) non-profits within our areas of focus that align with our strategic priorities which include education, employee engagement, reputation enhancement and community strengthening philanthropic initiatives.

 


Giving in Support of Volunteerism

Employees are a key component of our company's Corporate Citizenship initiatives. Whether tutoring students in math, preparing care packages for our service members or cleaning up our waterways, the passions of our employees help transform our communities.

We encourage employees to support the local community through volunteerism and we reward their efforts with Community Service Grants to the organization for which they volunteer. Eligible employees must volunteer 40+ hours with a school or a 501(c)(3) non-profit during the yearly grant cycle.

In addition, Northrop Grumman offers the Excellence in Volunteerism Awards. This volunteer recognition program honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment through consistent volunteerism. Eligible organizations are encouraged to nominate a Northrop Grumman employee or team of employees for an Excellence in Volunteerism Award. Nominations are reviewed by an independent partner and 10 organizations are selected each year to receive a $5,000 grant on behalf of the employee or team.

 


Employees Charity Organization of Northrop Grumman (ECHO)

Through the Employees Charity Organization of Northrop Grumman (ECHO), employees have the ability to make turnkey payroll contributions to qualifying charities and schools of their choice. In addition, ECHO accepts grant requests from organizations within participating communities and provides grants to selected organizations through employee funded Community Outreach Funds.

 


The Northrop Grumman Foundation

The Northrop Grumman Foundation is dedicated to increasing STEM educational opportunities for students so they can fill future workforce needs for talented and diverse professionals. Our partnerships focus on engineering and technology-based initiatives that excite, engage and educate students, with an emphasis on middle school and university level programs. Additionally, we support our employee's contributions to qualified educational institutions through the Northrop Grumman Foundation Matching Gifts for Education program.
