Job Summary

  • Apply in-depth understanding of a variety of EEE components to help lead failure analysis for root cause when possible
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives impacting efficiency and effectiveness of Reliability Analysis Lab (RAL)
  • Oversees all laboratory operations, including equipment acquisition, monitoring, and maintenance. Manages and implements operating procedures and standards to ensure laboratory safety and overall organization and cleanliness, including specialized safety training programs.
  • Evaluate defective components and failure analysis reports as required. Interface internally with Electrical Design Engineers, Reliability Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Quality Engineers in support of risk mitigation and material review efforts
  • Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and individual contributors
  • Monitor lab utilities, manage tasks related to labs, file PO’s and procure tools and equipment based on the needs
  • Train team members on specialized equipment usage and lab practices
  • Provide test equipment needs and forecasts for budget planning
  • Monitor the industry and market conditions to provide suggestions for changes in test methods and related processes and procedures
  • Collaborate with team members, customers, and vendors to help resolve issues in a timely and thorough manner
  • Research and collaborate with suppliers and technology providers to recommend sustainable materials, coatings, and processes where feasible
  • Material and processes assessments for design concepts, reviews, and manufacturability.
  • Identify and attend key events/seminars and report latest trends on strength, materials, and manufacturing opportunities
  • Work closely with design engineers and offer expert opinions on design issues with engineering consensus and record the key decisions.

This is a part-time / casual position with weekly hours varying from 0-39 per week. There are no benefits associated with this position.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related STEM field
  • 25+ years of related experience
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Willing to accept a part-time casual position

Salary Range: $1 USD - $1 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
