Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Capture Management Manager 2 in Northridge, CA or McLean, VA.


This position requires the selected candidate to work on-site in Northridge, CA or McLean, VA. Relocation assistance, while not guaranteed, may be available.

This individual will lead capture-related activities for opportunities across a wide customer base, including the US Navy, US Air Force, US Army, DARPA, and other DoD communities.

The successful candidate will work closely with all of Northrop Grumman’s functional organizations including NGDS’ leadership team and other industry and government partners.

This position will require up to 25% travel.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Capture Leadership
• Opportunity identification and shaping
    *Opportunity qualification  
    *Business case analysis
• Customer relationship management  
    *Customer acquisition approach analysis and shaping
    *Professional relationship development and maintenance with key decision makers
    *Government Relations collaboration on customer engagement strategies and execution
    *Future customer requirements analysis and planning
• Capture strategy development and execution
    *Customer and competitor assessments  
    *Congressional budgetary and appropriation analysis
    *Price-to-Win analysis o Offer design  
    *Workforce planning  
    *Teammate/supplier selection and relationship management  
• Threat identification and mitigation
    *Internal briefings to the NG Defense leadership team

 

Business Development

• Work with the Air Warfare Systems (AWS) Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM) and or the AARGM Extended Range (AARGM ER) International Program team to develop customer relationships with existing and new customers, including senior company and government agency leaders to ensure products and company are well known and respected.

• Support Business Development and Program managers on various international pursuits; participate and lead customer relationship development (both international customer and US Government customer) to understand need, budget, timelines, and competitor capability.

• Assemble and execute new AWS business strategies in line with the current business overarching strategy.

• Make strategic adjustments to the AWS Business Development Plans as necessary to adapt to product updates and evolving customer’s interest.

• Provide inputs to internal M&S, B&P and IRAD resource allocation decisions based on knowledge of future customer needs.

• Develop and Perform to a Strategic Plan including multi-year sales and marketing strategic plans that identify key products and markets that will enable the company to achieve its goals of growth and profitability.• Assemble and execute new AWS business strategies in line with the current business overarching strategy.

• Create, update, and maintain SalesForce records to support new business opportunity pursuits, and gate reviews.

• Provide inputs to internal M&S, B&P and IRAD resource allocation decisions based on knowledge of future customer needs.

 

Ethics

    Ensure new business activity is carried out in accordance with government, customer, and Northrop Grumman policies, procedures, and processes.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM related field, General Business, Marketing, or Political Science / International Relations.
• 5+ years' experience with program management, customer management, capture, business development, or Foreign Military Sales.
• 5+ years of overall experience in the aerospace/defense industry, US Navy or Air Force service, or US Navy or Air Force civilian service.

• 5+ years’ experience working Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and/or foreign release policies within the DoD.
• Knowledge of customer acquisition processes.

• Knowledge and experience with tactical missile opportunities with the Department of Defense.

• Knowledge of the Business Acquisition Process or similar new business opportunity process.

• Must hold (or have recently held and can reestablish) a DoD Secret Clearance.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in STEM related field, General Business, Marketing, or Political Science / International Relations.
• Proven experience with DoD capture and/or business development (winning captures >$100M).

• 8+ years of overall experience in the aerospace/defense industry, US Navy or Air Force service, or US Navy or Air Force civilian service.

• 8+ years’ experience in SAF/IA, NIPO, DSCA or other Implementing Agencies working Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and/or foreign release policies within the US Government.
• Experience leading and managing geographically dispersed teams.
• Experience in program planning, budget development and execution, workforce planning, risk management, and the implementation of project processes and controls.

• Current/active TS/SCI security clearance.

This position reports to Northridge, CA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from McLean, VA, VA, USA.


Salary Range: $143,500 USD - $215,300 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
