Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) is seeking a Principal Program Cost Control Analyst to join our Cost Management team in Redondo Beach, CA. The Principal Program Cost Control Analyst will report to the Manager of Production Cost Management and will have responsibility for supporting the AMP Program Electronics Production area.  

 

This role requires the candidate to have an active Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret (TS) Clearance and/or Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) Access through a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).

 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Perform analyses and prepares reports to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines
  • Set up cost control system, monitors and controls costs and schedules on Contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system
  • Maintain Earned Value Management System (EVMS) compliance including cost/schedule integration
  • Prepare and maintain spend plans; develop and review Estimates at Complete (EACs); incorporate changes into the EVMS system in order to maintain cost and schedule baselines
  • Assist Control Account Managers (CAMs) with EVMS activities including Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development and alignment; time-phasing of tasks; developing and documenting earned value methodologies; performance measurement; estimate to complete analysis and updates and variance analysis research and reporting
  • Create financial charts in support of program management and program reviews; identify cost impacts and develop recovery plans as required
  • Responsible for actuals reconciliation, budget change requests and ensuring proper accounting
  • Incorporate contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines

Basic Qualifications:

  • An active DoD Top Secret or SSBI/SCI Clearance is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years’ of Business Management, Finance, Cost Control and/or Accounting experience OR; Master’s Degree and 3 years of stated experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • SAP Management Project System Modules and Business Warehouse (BW)
     

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s Degree
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years’ of Business Management, Finance, Cost Control and/or Accounting experience OR; Master’s Degree and 4 years of stated experience
  • Working experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
  • Experience with financial control concepts and principles to solve business issues
  • Proficiency of the following systems or software: Cobra or similar project management software
  • Understanding of Production processes and controls.
  • SAP Material Requirements Planning (MRP) operating fundamentals including replenishments: Production Orders; Purchase Orders
  • Solumina Manufacturing Execution System
  • Percent Complete with Quantifiable Backup Data
  • Program Integrated Master Schedule

Salary Range: $83,800 USD - $125,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
