Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Cost Accountant/Staff Cost Accountant to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA. The selected candidate will support Strategic Space Systems Division’s (SSSD) Business Management accounting and Global Supply Chain operations and compliance of several key business processes.

Essential Functions:

Apply and analyze material accounting principles on processes, practices and procedures relative to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)

Play a central role in audit activities supporting continued approved status of SSSD Business Systems in both open and restricted environments; this will include Material Management Accounting System (MMAS), Purchasing System, Incurred Cost, and various internal audits

Interact with federal regulatory agencies and internal personnel while investigating and resolving regulatory compliance issues

Ensure that costs are allocated according to established procedures; work closely with Cost Estimating on Material SEEF tasks

Leverage subject matter expertise into training and guidance to associated stakeholders

Lead improvement and corrective actions both in the open and restricted environments

Basic Qualifications:

  • Level 4: Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of Cost, Accounting, and/or Finance experience, or a Master’s degree with 8 years of stated experience

  • Level 5: Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of Cost, Accounting, and/or Finance experience, or a Master’s degree with 13+ years of stated experience

  • Experience performing and supporting audit activities

  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances (TS or SSBI/SCI)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong Organization, Attention to detail and leadership characteristics

  • Experience with cost accounting and/or material management on aerospace programs

  • Operational experience with SAP in Aerospace or Space Systems production environment

  • Strong communication and written skills

  • Experience working and collaborating with DCAA/DCMA

  • Active Top Secret or SSBI/SCI security clearance (DOD or SSBI/SCI)

Salary Range: $94,500 USD - $141,700 USD
Salary Range 2: $117,200 USD - $175,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
