Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a Manager 1 – Budgeting to support the Rates and Budgets organization  within the Sector Controller Function.  The Manager will report to the Mission Systems Rates & Budgets Director . 

This position is located onsite in Linthicum, MD and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop, forecast and manage applicable indirect budgets by functional organization and major budget categories such as Corporate Office and Enterprise Shared Service Allocations, NCTA, Depreciation
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reports, cost forecasts, and variance explanations; Consolidate and analyze Functional and Corporate financial reports and forecasts
  • Coordinate and lead all business management functions including but not limited to quarterly EAC process, financial forecasting, and monthly reporting
  • Provide financial business analysis and reporting with the ability to clearly communicate with senior management as it relates to financial status and analyses
  • Development of Annual Budget Plans and coordinating the distribution of the indirect budgets to the responsible Leadership Team Member
  • Recommends and interprets budgetary policies and procedures
  • Interface with diverse functional areas to ensure risks are understood and financial performance is achieved
  • Advanced understanding of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS); Federal Cost Principles including direct versus indirect, allowable vs. unallowable; Financial Planning to include Annual Operating Plan development, budgeting and forecasting to include Capital expenditures and inventory
  • Proficient at developing and motivating a productive staff in a team environment with excellent interpersonal, planning, presentation and organizational skills with focused emphasis on continuous process improvement

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and 5 years of experience in Business Management or a related field - OR - Master’s degree from an accredited university with 3 years of experience in Business Management or a related field.
  • Technical skills and working knowledge in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and accounting.
  • Some experience leading project, program, or personnel.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 10% of the time.
  • US Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with all aspects/phases of Business Management in developing and managing financial goals and overseeing monthly financial reporting
  • Full working knowledge of Financial Planning to include Annual Operating Plan development.
  • Advanced MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) skills
  • Understanding of DoD contracts, government Cost Accounting Standards, Commercial contracts, Commercial contracts and the FAR.

Salary Range: $101,800 USD - $152,800 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
