Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Business Management Manager 3 for the Immersive Mission Solutions Operating Unit within the Mission Readiness and Protective Systems Business Unit. This position will be located in Orlando, FL and will consider part time telework. The manager will partner with the Operating Unit Director, Department, and Program Managers to manage all financials to achieve the organization’s financial and strategic objectives.

The successful candidate must have a proven track record in leading a diverse team as well as the ability to promote the professional development of the business management workforce, fostering a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around ethics and integrity, employee engagement, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement. The candidate will maintain the highest level of commitment to quality, compliance and internal controls in adherence to company values and ethics. The position may require some travel to customer and other off-site locations.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead a team of geographically dispersed Managers and Program Control Analysts in executing a broad scope of business management activities to support program execution and compliance

  • Provide financial business analysis and reporting with the ability to clearly communicate with senior management as it relates to financial program status and analyses

  • Develop business strategy and forecasting, through internal or external deliverables such as the Long-Range Strategic Plan and the Annual Operating Plan

  • Oversee key line forecasting, work authorization, implementation of program budgeting, risk management, estimate at complete development, and various financial reporting activities

  • Interface with diverse functional areas to ensure risks are understood and financial performance is achieved

  • Develop proposals from draft RFP to award, including review of RFP, FAR clauses, coordination with subcontractor flow-downs, basis of estimates, indirect rates, pricing strategies, cash management, negotiation strategy and oversight, and presenting to Senior Management

  • Lead and support internal and external program audits

  • Interface with customer leadership on contract execution (CDRL submittals, funding requirements, invoicing, etc.)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED with 14 years experience in Business Management or related discipline, Bachelor's degree with 9 years experience in Business Management or related discipline or Master’s degree with 7 years minimum experience in Business Management or related discipline

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop talent, 2+ years of management experience

  • Experience developing business strategy and forecasting, through internal or external deliverables

  • Experience with program proposals, cost and schedule control, program budgeting and forecasting

  • Demonstrated knowledge in the preparation and analysis of organizational balance sheet and income statements

  • Financial reporting experience on a variety of contract types

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

  • Must be able to work on-site in Orlando, FL

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current, active US Secret level security clearance

  • 5+ years of management experience

  • Experience in US Government contracting

  • Earned value management experience

  • Experience working in SAP, Precision, COBRA, and Microsoft Project


Salary Range: $122,000 USD - $183,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
