Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyzes, audits, reconciles and resolves complex payroll processing and employee payroll issues to ensure smooth payroll processing
  • Ensures payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, generally accepted accounting principles, and federal, state and IRS regulations
  • Researches and interprets federal and state regulatory requirements and resolves tax, withholding, garnishment, and wage/hour issues for payroll processing
  • Responds to auditing and regulatory inquiries
  • May work with system programmers to achieve solutions or administer company payroll system with outside service provider

Basic Qualifications  -

  • High school diploma & 5 years of related relevant work experience or Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field with 3 years experience OR Masters degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field with 1 year of experience
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft office suite (excel, word, and PowerPoint)
  • Payroll/Tax/Garnishment processing experience including relevant regulatory requirements; internal policy and procedure; accounting practices; system software requirements
  • Must be able to critically apply knowledge of FLSA, federal and state laws, etc.
  • Experience working with multi-state locations
  • Operating a personal computer including standard software and some specialized accounting software
  • Experience involving relevant extensive payroll duties
  • Ability to work independently with little direction in day-to-day functional responsibilities of the position
  • Certified Payroll Professional Certification [1 year completion requirement]

Preferred Qualifications - 

  • Certified Payroll Professional Certification (CPP)
  • SAP/Workday/ADP experience
  • Prior experience working in a shared service or center of excellence environment

This position reports to Unknown City, TX, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Irving, TX, TX, USA.

Salary Range: $48,700 USD - $81,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
