Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has multiple openings for Mechanical or Principal Mechanical Engineers to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. In Vehicle Engineering, we develop manned and unmanned aircraft platforms for all of the programs in the Aeronautics Systems Sector

This position will be located in Palmdale, CA and work on 1st Shift:
• Monday - Thursday on a 4 day - 10 hours/day schedule. Alternate hours or shifts may be discussed and/or necessary on weekends occasionally.

We are looking for Engineers to become members of our multi-disciplined teams responsible for providing liaison-engineering support to our multiple programs. In your day-to-day activities you will be working with subsystem installations and composite structures, performing timely dispositions for nonconforming parts, assemblies, and installations, as well as working as a part of a Material Review Board (MRB)

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a Principal or a Sr. Principal Level"


•    Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 7 years experience; 5 years with a Master’s 

Senior Principal:

•    Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 9 years experience; 7 years with a Master’s

Both Principal and Sr Principal Systems Engineer 
•    Knowledge of the MRB process / experience with the MRB process
•    Experience with CATIA v5, NX, Visualization Pro, TeamCenter, MES, or other CAD programs
•    Must have a DOD Secret clearance with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years
•    Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
•    Experience working in an aircraft manufacturing facility
•    Experience interfacing with a military customer
•    Experience working hands-on in a production assembly line environment
•    Experience with aircraft subsystem design
•    Previous MRB/LE Authority for Engineering

Salary Range: $92,200 USD - $138,400 USD
Salary Range 2: $114,300 USD - $171,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
