Position Summary / Responsibilities
This role will support maintenance and modifications of large composite structures, repairs, work instructions and shop aids. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, interpreting Engineering drawings and process specifications, author and revise work instructions for fabrications and installations.  Works closely with Manufacturing Engineering team members, Liaison/Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Quality Inspectors and Manufacturing Leadership/Technicians, providing training and operations to solve production high driver defects. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Provides guidance to engineering, regarding design concepts and specification requirements, to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Liaison

Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters, often requiring coordination between organizations.

Typical Education / Experience

9 Years with Bachelor of Science STEM; 7 Years with Master’s STEM; 4 Years with PhD STEM.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s (Non-STEM) with 11 years experience in production assembly/fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing operations OR Master’s (Non-STEM) with 9 years experience in production assembly/fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing operations OR PhD (Non-STEM) with 7 years experience in production assembly/fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing operations OR
  • HS Diploma/GED or AA degree with 17 years of experience in production assembly/fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience reading and interpreting 3D models and Engineering drawings/blueprints
  • Experience in planning/scheduling, process development, quality, or production experience in aerospace, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment
  • Experience creating work instructions and visual aids
  • Must have the ability to interface/communicate with multiple levels of leadership
  • Active in-scope DOD Secret security clearance that has been granted / renewed within the past 5 years as well as to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period-of-time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's STEM with 9 years experience OR Master’s STEM with 7 years experience OR PhD STEM with 4 years experience
  • Experience with Low Observables / Coatings, composites and titanium structures/assemblies, electrical/hydraulic systems
  • Experience creating procedures or process manuals
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Experience working with Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
  • Experience working with Systems Applications and Products (SAP)
  • Ability to work SHIFT details
  • Current Special Program Access


Salary Range: $114,300 USD - $171,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
